SHOP ST. FRANCISVILLE

Boot by Tom'sWith all the technology we have we are still searching for that perfect way to advertise our local downtown businesses. We join associations, we run ads, we have facebook pages and we twitter but we still overlook Shopping in St. Francisville.

I wasn’t sure where to start but a recent broadcast on Channel 20 led me right down the path to start with Shoes. Yes for those of you who watched Channel 20 of course you can buy shoes in town; hold on and I will walk you through the places and types of shoes that you can buy. We have shoes for men women and children, from high heels to steel toed boots and guess what they are the same price here as they are outside the parish, actually some are less.

I know a lot of ya’ll have seen Blake on TV lately promoting Toms Shoes, Buy one pair and one pair is given to a child in need. “Buy One Give One”. How cool is that and guess what we have Toms Shoes Karen proprietor of Belle Glen Tradition on Ferdinand Street is carrying at least 8 different styles of Toms Shoes with another 4 styles coming in soon. Toms Shoes are cute and extremely comfortable in my house we share shoes so we do own at least three pairs.

LSU football is underway and I know how it is a must to wear purple and gold to Tiger Stadium and of course this is a must for your feet as well. If you have not seen them yet stroll on down to The Shanty Too and put on that purple and gold pair of Volatile’s sandals and boots they are the best and for that long walk to the stadium or tailgating they are perfect for hot or cold weather.

Want something for everyday stop by GDH Spa they have a great variety of Cobian casual and dressier flip flops looking for a ballet flat or high heel try Grandmothers Buttons. The holidays are right around the corner and TattleTales is perfect for babies and toddlers from socks and sneakers to pink patent leather boots. I wish they came in my size.

Working out in the yard pick up a pair of rubber boots, not those funky white shrimp boots but a cutepair from Pats Home Center, The Shanty Too or Hillcrest, there are plenty of choices, designs and colors.

I almost forgot the perfect part of the day when you get to take your shoes off and slip into your really really comfy slippers and fuzzy footies at Sage Hill Gifts.

Shoes are an important part of any outfit so ladies remember the next time you step out step into
St. Francisville. Think back the last time you walked into a store did they know your name, did they ask about your kids, well they do in St. Francisville. Your purchases
are what keep our stores open. Did you know that for every $100.00 spent in a locally owned independent store that $68.00 returns to the community through taxes, payroll and other expenditures, when you spend this outside of St. Francisville nothing comes home.
